review 1: This story is about a boy named Nate Brodie and his friend Abby Mcall. It's about him winning a trip to a patriots game and trying to throw a football threw a tire for a million dollars from 30 yards away. But there is a lot of things that happen before he gets there like his best friend losing here eye sight.Read this book to see if he makes the throw and wins a million dollars or does he go home with his head down.
review 2: Mike Lupica wrote "Million-Dollar Throw" to entertain the reader. I think teenage boys will like this book more than others. As she tells the story of the boy named Nate Brodie, his best friend named Abby is going blind. So the pressure that is put on his back with everyone that needs his help, makes him a town hero. There are very view opp
... moreortunities for the reader to relate because not very often do kids have to save so many people with a competition. The way Mike Lupica writes his books, it relates to more teenage boys because they are about sports but also have a lesson behind them. The theme of the book is if something is worth fighting for, then fight for it. I think this is the theme because Nate has many bad things occur to the people that he loves. His best friend starts going blind and his dad lost his job, so their family is going to lose their house. but that doesn't stop Nate from throwing the million dollar throw through the target. Nate over came these horrible events and completed the pass through the target and won one million dollars and is able to pay for Abby's eye surgery and help his family out. Mike Lupica wrote this book about Nate's life. He wrote it in third person. i was always comparing myself to the way Nate was reacting to these problem that came across him, and my comparison to Nate was the same which made me more interested in this book. The way Nate reacted would have been the same way I would have. The way that I connected to this book made it really easy to understand.Overall i really liked this book. I mostly enjoy reading Mike Lupica book but this is by far my favorite. I enjoy how the book started off calm and joyful till all these bad events started happen. then it made me want to read more of it because i want to know how Nate would bounce back for adversity. The way the author places the events in the book were perfect because i never wanted to stop reading it. I would absolutely recommend this book to teenage boys that like sports and like adversity. less

I really liked this book it was both interesting and exciting.I really like to watch sports and play sports but i mostly like to read about sports because it gives me more excitment and thrill of reading about football than watching football. This book has some nail biting times and some mind blown times. If you like to read about one in a million chances of things happening to you this is the perfect book for you.Jake gets his name drawn from millions and millions of people to see if he got chosen to go make a million dollar throw. He was the one that got chosen buts its your turn to read the book and find out if he made the throw And the million dollars.
