review 1: Holy BeJesus! There is no doubt that Mo Hayder is deserving of the Edgar Award she won for this novel. Although part of the Jack Caffery series there is no need to have read the others to pick this up (although I bet you will backtrack after reading this). I stayed up until nearly 1:00 a.m. this morning to finish it. Truly scary. A definite you-didn't-see-it-coming mystery/thriller. Wow. Can I say it again? Wow!
review 2: I listened to this one in the car on CD. I think I enjoy reading her books more than listening to them. Something was lost in translation. But it was still a good story. There were a lot of characters though and I had a hard time keeping them all straight a few times. I do like the main character detective Cafferty and his story line. I will p... morerobably look for more by this author because she does spin a good suspenseful tale. less
