review 1: This book is about the story of an Elephant that breaks his trunk. This book is probably one of my favorite Mo Willem books because of how innocent and simple the plot and illustrations are, which perfectly compliment the book as a whole. I don’t really have a lot of critiques for this book because it is such a basic example of a children’s book both based on my expectations and experience in learning about children’s literature and the qualities of a good children’s book in general. I would have this book in my classroom because I think it would be a good read for my students, and also because there is definitely a lesson to be told in the plot. Also this book could be beneficial in presenting the importance of safety in the classroom as some sort of initiative d... moreuring the first few weeks of classroom instruction. Willems, M. (2011). Children must be able to see the pictures to really get the story.Connection to six early literacy skills Print Motivation - A fun story to tell and to hear with great pictures. Narrative Skills -This story has a strong beginning middle and end that children can easily identify.Opinion -This is a cute series of book about two friends and their very interesting adventures. Children enjoy these books for their great illustrations and storyline that is funny but relatable. less
