review 1: Well, this is a Mo Willems book and it is good. If this your first Mo Willems book, it is great. This is several pigeon books for me, and they are all good, they are all smile-inducing, and kids especially don't seem to be sick of them, so maybe I should rate this higher, but I'll only admit i read this because it is nominated as anyone would expect for the Goodreads Picture Book of the year. Won't get my vote. Seems like it is sam ol', same ol'...
review 2: I love Mo Willems, and this Pigeon book is no exception. Print Motivation and Print Recognition are both clearly represented in this hysterical book. Every parent who has every had a child throw a fit when asked to take a bath only to have them love it so much that they refuse to get out will love taking... more that child into their lap and reading it together. The words so clearly express the emotions conveyed by the pigeon that it's a clear relationship to the text. It;s great for kids ages 1-3 years old. less
