review 1: I am honestly really happy to be done with this book. I never had an interest in Riaz, and when I started reading this book I became even more uninterested. Riaz and Adria take a backseat in this book and we are shown more about Sienna and Hawke, Vasic and Aden and Kaleb and Vasquez than the two lovers. I was thrown off by the fact that Riaz had found his mate and didn't start the mating dance. From all the previous books we are shown that once a mate is found, its impossible to not start the mating dance. This book throws off all of my preconceived notions about how the mating works in this world. It goes against everything previously that we were told, and then Dues ex machina happens and "oh by the way there was a previous couple like this in the same situation, but we ... morewill never know if they mate because they both died in battle against each other", so therefore Riaz and Adria can be together even though Riaz is mated, and he still feels no "draw" to his mate. I dont get it. I wont get it, and I'm happy to be done :) I am WAY more excited to read about Kaleb and then Vasic!! BTW I still gave this book 4 stars because the author is amazing and one bad book in a series this good does not warrant such a low rating. I still wish there was more world building (there is a HUMAN couple that is 125 years old and still "young and healthy"?? WHAT!?!!) but that's okay, Singh still knocks it out of the park every time for me.
review 2: Probably more like a 3.5, but this definitely wasn't one of my favorites. I didn't dislike it, but it wasn't very compelling and wasn't a page turner like most of the others have been for me. I came to like Riaz and Adria, but I hated their relationship at first, particularly Riaz's treatment of Adria. I thought it was interesting to have a different take on the mating bond because the whole "oh no we're not going to have the mating bond!!!!!111" thing was getting kind of old during previous books. I loved seeing more Hawke and Sienna, too. Overall, this felt like a filler book to me, but I did enjoy it in the end. Now onto book 12, which I am really looking forward to! less

This one is a changeling romance with the two parties certain they will never have a bond. Riaz, a lone wolf who did find his mate but she is married and in love with someone else and he will not break up the relationship and Adria a dominate woman licking her wounds after a failed relationship. They are attracted to one another but both of them refuse to have a serious relationship. Of course the road to true love will have some bumps but it does happen in the end. The war plot moves along but nothing huge. Still entertained by it so will keep reading.

Nothing much to say about this book. The main characters didn't really interest me enough in the previous story for them to warrant a book of their own but I guess it's necessary for the story progression. To be honest, I skipped most of the romantic parts and focused more on the developing plot. I did enjoy Hawk and Sienna's parts though. Also, when Judd, Kaleb, Vasic and Aden are together, they set the roof on fire! They're like the authority of hotness. Swoon! Anyway, the ending of this book is very very intriguing! Can't wait to read it!

I was a little disappointed in the ending. But still a good story.

My favourite part of this one was seeing Sienna and Hawke
