review 1: This book is top notch, the protagonist self aware yet unaware of who or what his magical power is. The book begins with Trent,the main character discovering that magic is indeed real and exists in New York City, through an assortment of magical characters and various magical villains. The author brilliantly turns the stereotypes of some magical creatures on its head, while keeping the book and and his world building and magic myths fresh. Recommended. Four stars. Nuff said.

What could have been a great read became an okay read because the author tried to cram everything into the story and did not allow time for proper development; however, it was still enjoyable.
