review 1: First of all, I purchased this book on sale, but would happily pay full price for it all over again. It was that good!To sum up The Merzetti Effect, Delano Bowen is a medical doctor with a special, personal interest in curing vampirism. In comes Ainsley Crawford with the key hidden away in her blood. However, Ainsley isn't aware of her uniqueness, nor of vampires in general. After Ainsley is attacked by a rogue vampire, Delano insists on keeping Ainsley close, withholding the information about her curious genetic heritage and unwittingly placing her in even greater danger. When an old rival surfaces, not just to destroy Delano and his research, but Ainsley too, Delano is forced to come clean with all his secrets. To make matters worse, Delano and Ainsley have chemistry that... more burns hot and won't stop, a chemistry that could very well spell death for Delano, should he give in.Ainsley is a treasure. She's smart, she's spunky...this girl takes no crap. In a world full of Bellas and Sookies, a good, strong heroine is a such a nice change.Delano is manipulative but dedicated and intense. He does the wrong thing for the right reason, not knowing how Ainsley may react. In the end, you want to forgive him.Overall, the book was fabulous. The supporting characters add to the story and there are twists and turns in just the right, unexpected places. This isn't your typical vampire romance. It's smart and intriguing. Please read it; you won't be disappointed.
review 2: This was a great book. Ainsley is a nurse who was just fired from her job. She relies on that money to send to a friend of hers who is on the run so to say. When she receives a job offer from a business man that seems to good to be true things turn upside down in her world as she is introduced to a world of vampires. As they struggle to save the human race and put down the vampires a spark flies between them. less
