review 1: I have the strong feeling that I've read this before feom the plot, but the characters aren't at all familiar. Maybe it's just the whole space theme thing, and training children, and the Givers, all of which aren't particularly uncommon themes in science fiction. Anyway, I was a little put off by the art style, but quickly got used to it, and I'll totally read the second volume (or maybe just the real novel) one day when I get the chance.In short: I recommend the story so far.
review 2: Have you ever been to space because in Laddertop you could be able to go to space. Since the kids have an academy that allows you to go to space.If someone asked me what kind of genre Laddertop is i would say it's science-fiction because of the main idea on gooig to space.My opi... morenion on this book would be that it was kind of interesting because of the mystery in some parts of the book if you read it i bet you would like to. This book takes place in a school and it also takes place in space.The book started getting interesting when they started naming the names of the kids who were going to Laddertop and they called Gabe Michalski, Trevor Dean, ROBERTA HOLTE, Azure Miles. And it also depended if the machine excepted you would be one of the three to go to space. The type of conflict is person vs. person and nature id'd say the conflict with person vs. person is when roberta and her mom get in a fight toguther and roberta just left and will never see her mom tills she gets back from space. Also roberta had a conflict with a metal bug that bit her and made a tatoo on her arm. Azure is a character that is a trouble maker in school and she made the first step to go to LADDERTOP but she doesn't make it to the second step. Another character is roberta holten she is the main character in the story she behaves alot and she made it to the second step the other two characer that made it to go to space is a girl they call nine and a boy. I was surprised when roberta got bit by that metal bug and another thoing i got surprised by that the metal bug bit her and then it gives her bad dreams and it also shows her dreams that may happen in the future. and it also tells her things but when she's awake and it gives her ideas and stuff that she may need.The main characters problem about the metal bug talking to her reminds me of a book i read and its called amulet instead of a bug talking to her it was a amulet talking to herinstead. If i were to give this book a rate i would give it a 8 because it think this book was interesting withthe mystery and allthat kind of that. I would recommend this book to a person that likes to read graphic novels and also when the book is science and mystery. and that is why i would recommend this book to this kind of person. less
