review 1: I absolutely love this book! I knew that Wulfe's book would be my favorite in the series. From the beginning he's been arrival for Jag from my heart. Because of course I absolutely adore Jag I'm really sad to see such an awesome series and, especially when I still have so many questions. Other characters that have been introduced and yet some characters who I want to know their story. Like Grizz & Sabine! So I hope Pamela gets back to the series one of these days. I look forward to whatever else she writes, of course, as she's one of my favorite authors.
review 2: It has… issues.I think the most jarring thing was near the beginning when it was revealed that this series so far, has covered less than 9 months. Eh? I could believe it a bit better if a couple ... moreof years had passed. See, a lot of crap has happened over the 9 months or so. And like…(tries to count in head, gives up and looks it up) 8 books representing 8 of the 9. Oh, but one of the 9 is actually a replacement because one was killed off. Err… ok. And the long lost 17 have reappeared - a book or three ago. Now, they're just trying to figure out which ones are contaminated. Heh, well, one solved that issue by turning on and killing off a couple who were bad and they knew it. Now the bad guy is gone, a bunch are freed, and we have an epilogue 2 years later. Is the series over? I have no idea.Now that I've grumbled about the series so far/story arc, now back to the book. Wulfe (gawd I hate dumb nicknames) is attracted to a human. The human has a fiancé. Conveniently, the h breaks up with the fiancé and moves on to the H within a day or two. Emmm… yeah. At least she did break up first but still, I think I would have liked that part better if she'd already broken up in the 6 weeks between the time she was rescued from a mage plot and well, she was rescued again from a mage plot.The H…was bonded to the previous radiant - the one who'd died 9 months before, setting the stage for book 1. Survivors of broken mating bonds don't handle it v. well. The h quickly, like within a day or so, falls for him (insta-luv; it's fantastic), and suddenly he's getting boners again. Ah, but the bad nasty is not to be ignored so… Well, much angst later, the H conveniently is the only one who can destroy said bad guy, the h keeps him from going bad, and an epilogue later… Yeah. Oh, and the h is conveniently now immortalAnd yeah; I'm being just a leedle sarcastic about the whole thing. This is one of those I follow just to see what happens next. less
