review 1: this YA novel grabbed me immediately with the few, but really neat illustrations and the cute cover. it's one of those YA books that make you cry pretty quickly and has an adorable magical aspect to it. especially with all the animals, i was hooked and finished it within an hour. i highly recommend this for anyone who loves animals and is going through rough family times, although more often than not, the parents don't work things out like these ones do...
review 2: This book dealt with kids going through their parents splitting up; although they end up together in the end. I read this with my 8 year old, and it was a more mature issue than she is used to, but I think it was done well. The family gets 4 dogs and a cat when the dad leaves, and they are able to c... moreommunicate to the people. This is what made my daughter like the book! I think this might be better for a 10 year old and up. less
