review 1: This is probably one of the best books I have read this year! I have heard so much about Patrick Ness; I have not been disappointed. Though the books are quite big (the smallest being just under 500 pages)they are very fast-paced and I found it, unbelievably, a quick read. The protagonist (Todd Hetwitt) narrates the story: he speaks phonetically. I guess that is the one downfall of these books, you will truly be amazed when have finished the first book. The journey Todd mentally and physically undertakes is astonishing. I found that as the trilogy progresses, the characters and overall story carefully unfold. This trilogy is exceptional because it continues to improve in character development and general narration.I don't want to say too much but I 100% recommend this tril... moreogy unless you can't stand words being spelt incorrectly so when you pick up the book I think you should read the first 3 pages: to get a feel. If this concerns you too much, don't worry by the middle of the book you probably won't even notice.
review 2: I have to review these books to make sure they get the rating they deserve, Its true that these books are not Shakespeare, but it is their simplicity that makes them so immensely readable. The plot has more twists than you may originally expect. The character development is adequate - any more would not enhance the story. Each book length is perfect, enough to get stuck into but short enough to leave you wanting more.Reading these books reminded me of the way I felt when I found a good book when I was a kid. People have enough pressure and complexity already, its great to escape into a good versus evil love story whatever your age. less

One of the best series I've ever read in my entire life. Unlike anything I've ever seen before.

On hold, I can't handle the contrived bullshit of the not killing/killing layered on so thick.

Beautiful story that really touched me and made me see things I didn't see before
