Doctor Who 50th Anniversary E-Shorts
review 1: This was an interesting one, as the Doctor was barely there – he was conducting an investigation and blowing stuff up, all the usual Doctory fare, but instead of watching his exploits, we focused on the ordinary people caught up in the adventure. It reminded me of "Love & Monsters", which is one of my favourite DW episodes. I liked the choice of the protagonists and setting (a Jewish boy with a German name and a mixed race girl in a small American town towards the end of WW2) as well as the conceit of the alien as metaphor for social ostracism on different levels. I'll remember it fondly among other anniversary stories.
review 2: The 5th Doctor and Nyssa show up in America during World War II and find a striking new fashion trend revolving around the pure and
... more simple truth. However, absolute truth is not as it first appears. Honestly, the fifth Doctor has never been one of my favorites, but this story didn't do him justice. The Doctor and Nyssa were barely in the story and the main plot and characters felt more like early 50's sci-fi than a real Doctor Who story. I was very disappointed. Worst story of the Doctor I have read less

This wasn't a bad story, but the Doctor was more of a background character, not the main focus.

Sciapito questo racconto, e il dottore non compare che per una manciata di righe.

Good story, just not really a Doctor Who story, much more Nyssa than the doctor.

I really quite enjoyed this one, perhaps because it was just a simple fun read.
