review 1: This is the last of the bonus short stories and what seems to be the continuation towards the conclusion of the Chaos Walking series. It shows how the New World evovled as the settlers came and when peace was achieved with the Spackle. It also provided the ending of Todd waking up. I would have wished that Ness wrote more about it, on how Viola and Todd will end up on the New World and if they will really still runaway to live on their own. I know for one I'm left wanting more of Viola and Todd's budding love story but I think Patrick Ness just gave enough of that in the series, you can feel the deep emotions between the two characters even though the entire time they only shared one kiss and almost towards the end.
review 2: This novella follows two of my favo
... morerite side characters: Lee and Wilf. It provides a whole new look at the rest of New World and the different ways spackle live in different regions, which is very interesting. There was a lot of world building in the trilogy, but it obviously focused on the part of the world where the story occurred, and this takes us exploring to the edges and extremes of New World. While it does provide new background information, there’s still a real story/plot here that is both horrifying and fascinating. less

Not a "proper" ending of a series I would've liked. But it did give it an ending.

GREAT ending to Chaos Walking. Makes the ending of Monsters of Men 1000x better.
