review 1: I really liked this book. I thought it was inspiring, positive and helpful. It's the kind of book you read to help get greater perspective on life... so that after you read it, your mind is oriented towards choosing actions that bring more peace to your life (and to the people around you). This book had little snippets from lots of other books by Pema Chodron, and it was nice to get that "buffet style or a little bit of everything" format. It helped me get a broad understanding of her work.
review 2: I've been studying Buddhism a lot lately, so I really wanted something small that I could always carry with me and that would be an accessible way to remind myself of the important stuff. This is just the right fit. Each "story" is one to three small pages long, but
... more even in that short space, it gets at the heart of the issue. I've read through all of it, and now I can't wait to be able to refer to certain passages when I'm having trouble. less
