review 1: This is a strange book. I expected a mystery story, set on the Thames and that is what I got but .... it's creepy - properly weird. It takes your regular idea of a murder mystery but puts it in a really everyday world and scenario which just makes it feel very uncomfortable. Some bits are over described and dull, other parts are shocking with some real surprises. It was quite a disturbing read and gave me some quite strange dreams! I wasn't all that keen on the style of writing. It's like reading about your family, who you trust and feel to be normal, suddenly doing the most outrageous things you can imagine. odd.
review 2: A woman haunted by her past demons keeps a young man trapped against his will. As the story unfolds and you see the steps she has to
... moretake to cover her tracks, and in a series of flashbacks / reminiscences you come to understand what has brought her here. The back story is quite thrilling, the main story asks you to suspend belief too much for my liking. Funny reading a book set in my back yard. The writing is good but ultimately isn't thrilling enough to be a thriller or captivating enough to be a great story. Easy enough to read though. There was one twist that caught me out completely, which was very clever! less

Excellent psychological thriller from the unusual perspective of the woman committing the crime.

Fascinating read, bit slow and characters purposely tedious to start, but I was gripped!

I only read about 70 pages but it was painful - disliked the story and writing style

Very disturbing story. But a page turner none the less.
Hexry
Interesting plot but too long, too windy.
