review 1: Reminded me a little of the movie Go, the way it cut back and forth telling the story of a drug deal from alternating perspectives.High school football player Cam needs to pay off a debt to drug dealer Waits who in turn needs to pay off a mobster. Smart guy Byron needs cash, too, so he joins in on the deal, dragging his unwitting friend, Jimmy into a night where everything goes wrong. A couple girls become involved along the way as well - Reina and MC - like the guys, they don’t make the brightest decisions in the world, but that’s what keeps the pages turning. This one wasn’t big on seriousness or emotional depth, though I don’t think it was meant to be that, it’s just crazy twists and turns where I didn’t necessarily adore the characters but I did find them en... moretertaining.
review 2: WTF by Peter Lerangis is deeper than its cover. At first I thought this story would be about wild parties. In all actuality this book is about the hardships that some kids go through. These teenagers are all different but rapped up in the same trouble. This book focuses on major problems but not in an intense way. It dives into the teenage mind. This was average. He had five characters that were supposed to convey all forms of teenage thinking, nut that was a fail. You have Jimmy the kid looking for kicks. Cam the middle man bad jock. Byron the shiny apple whose gone sour. .Reina the one with morals. Last but no least Mc the bum. The characters were not as good as they could have been. I believe while he was writing this he was thinking back and not with actual teenagers.I wouldn't reccomend this book it's rather dry. If you just need something to read this isn't to heavy on the eyes. There are just to many things that could have been done better. less
