review 1: I have read all of the Inspector Banks series. I enjoy them not just for mystery but for the character development of Banks and the team. Although I enjoyed the read as usual it does not show any new development in Banks or really any of the team with the exception perhaps of Winsome. It rather seems as though the character has run out of steam so to speak and he must either be retired or develop a new twist.
review 2: I'm a little disappointed with this one usually I love Peter Robinson books but the last one and this felt seriously lacking. The story centers around the disappearance of Michael Lane and a missing tractor which seems to be part of a criminal ring operating in the rural area. When a pool of blood is found in a disused hanger a link begins ... moreto form between the two seemingly separate incidents. Banks, Annie ,Winsome an Gerry are soon on the hunt for a cold blooded killer. I think this may be the worst Inspector Banks story yet :( less
