review 1: Oliver goes on an adventure to find his missing parents. He meets islands that are alive, and mermaids do exist. This was a fun and cute nautical story involving both humans and interesting creatures. I wish I had been able to see the illustrations in the copy of the electronic galley I was sent, since those areas were blank, but I was delighted anyway. I’m sure many children will enjoy this tale. I read it via NetGalley, courtesy of the publisher.
review 2: I received access to this title via NetGalley, but my opinions and review are all my own. I found this story to be a fun quick read with imaginative characters that children will be sure to love. I cannot say anything about the illustrations since my copy had defects and none of the pictures came through
... more. However, from the look of the cover I am sure that the illustrations added to the humorousness that was and is this story. With a young boy with adventurous parents, a cranky albatross, a nearsighted mermaid, and a roaming island you cannot help, but have a good time. less
