review 1: It took me a while to get invested in the characters of this story, but once I was I was in it for the long haul. Some of the plot was very predictable and somewhat cheesy, but like I said, once I was invested in the characters I still found it engaging and enjoyable. The writing style seemed a bit disjointed in sections and was a bit hard to follow. I had to go back a page to make sure I didn't skip anything. The storyline made huge leaps along the timeline of the book with not much in the way of segue or explanation. That made it a harder read than I wanted it to be. Over all, I did like the book, but I am not likely to recommend it or to read it a second time.
review 2: This story takes place with Elle and Caroline's friend Joy. Joy is a cooking host on a t.
... morev. show that is about to hit it big. The only problem is that Joy can't cook. A nemesis of hers is constantly trying to get her in a cook off so that she might expose this fact and almost succeeds if Luke hadn't jumped to Joy's rescue. Due to this rescue Joy's producer decides to put him on the show. The only problem is now she has to keep the secret from him. Dining with Joy is a cute, fast paced story that had me laughing at many of the parts. Of course there were moment when I found myself rolling my eyes thinking will you just tell them the truth already. less
