review 1: I really love Rachel Khoo's style and approach to cooking. The recipes are approachable and don't contain a lot of specialty ingredients or kitchen equipment. I like the updates to classic French recipes, like cassoulet soup and foie gras truffles. There is more of an emphasis on desserts than I would like, but I've been happy with all of the recipes I've tried, so I still highly recommend the book.
