review 1: This is my favorite book EVER! I've read it at least seven times now, and I keep hoping that the author will write a sequel. It has everything that I could possibly want in a story: magic, flying, dragons, defiant heroines, love, loss, war, and all in only 388 pages! The only thing that could make this book better would be giant cats! I'd also like to point out that there are several unanswered questions at the end of this book, and it seems too cruel to just leave people hanging like this! Please write the sequel!
review 2: Trei suffers so much loss...and finds himself traveling farther than he ever thought would be necessary. How could he have known the aunt and uncle he knew wouldn't allow him to. Live with them, or the aunt and uncle he had never met would
... more. After his travels....he learns to fly. He gains friend in flight. But can they trust this boy who grew up among the enemy, the floating island boys.? His cousin Arene loves and trusts him from the first, but she's busy wishing she was a boy who could be a chef or a Mage. Toulon has declared war, now Trei must defend his new home and family. less
