review 1: A love story; that is so much more than just a love story. To be the new girl in school is a little scary. To be the new girl in school with a past must be terrifying. But with the promise of new friends, mix tapes, comic books and friendship. There is always some way to make it through. Especially if double A batteries are involved. This is a story that feels as though it never ends. You will probably find yourself thinking about it as your walking or listening to music. Maybe even doing the dishes. It will be random but you wouldn't have it any other way. Once you have read this story you can't forget it, and you don't want to. If you want a fairytale then yes there are some fairytale aspects. But this book probably won't live up to expectation. It's real. It's original,... more funny and sad. Not many times have I read a book so real yet wanted it not to be. These characters you grow to care for - and they deserve nothing but fairytale. Yet the way they make it through can only make you love them more. I'm not sure any film would do this book justice. It is one of my favourites and I plan on reading it again and again.
review 2: Oh, lord, this one's a sobfest. Eleanor and Park is perfect. I can't describe how much I loved it - my only criticism is that I read it too fast. The romance was so beautifully written, and Park was so swoon-worthy, and Eleanor was so wonderfully relatable. I'm in love with the book, the cover, the plot, the characters and the romance. I couldn't contain my tears by the end, but I think that's a good thing. Five billion stars. less
