review 1: I borrowed this from the library because I'd had a quick look at it in the bookshop (where I work and where I could easily spend my fortnight's pay each day) and thought it looked like fun. Some of the "opposites" are really funny and made me laugh out loud. However, the grandchildren weren't really drawn to it, and when I sat down with them on a couple of occasions we all found the book too long. Maybe it's just trying too hard and it overdoes the cute and funny.

... mored confusing (while a snail is definitely "little" and an elephant is definitely "big," it's difficult to get a sense of this size difference when both the snail and the elephant fill their respective pages and appear to be the same size). Young readers may also need adult assistance to understand/pronounce the rich vocabulary presented here; so while this isn't really a basic introduction to opposites, curious kids will nevertheless enjoy this book as an invitation to imagine, ponder, and explore. less

This is cute, but not all the word are opposites in English. So I was annoyed.
