review 1: This book is small, square, thick and looks as if it belongs in the elementary aged fiction section. And perhaps that's where it should have been placed. Because it is a weird cross between a picture book and an SAT study guide.Half the "opposites" here are nothing of the sort--"on snailback" vs "by turtle"? "Something" vs "whatever"?And then there is "gastropod" vs. "cucurbit". How many of your precocious little Bellas or Jacobs learning the difference between "up" and "down" are also mastering these terms?Probably the child of whichever idiot reviewer wrote the review in Kirkus. But none of the children that I have ever met.The pictures are cute though.....
review 2: When Pomelo was a wee elephant, opposites were a complex concept for him to grasp. Througho
... moreut the book, such opposites are highlighted. Towards the end, Pomelo gets a little older and opposites are not quite so difficult for him. Well, that is what this books implies. However, read the book and tell me what you think. Does Pomelo have a better grasp of the concept of opposites or does he still need help?Intended Grade Level: Kindergarten- 2nd grade less
