I’m labelling this as book one as this is the first full book that I have read this year. I asked my partner to choose one out of the tons of books I have unread for me and this is the one he picked out.
I was unenthusiastic when he picked this out, I’d kind of read half a chapter in the car last year and thought it would be boring, but having read a Jodi Picoult book previously I thought I’d give it a go. I am so glad I did.
This book is incredibly well written and focuses on the point of view of three different characters. Ruth is the accused. Turk is the accuser. Kennedy is the lawyer.
I won’t go into details of the story as I don’t want to spoil it for anyone who hasn’t read it yet but I would definitely recommend it.
I was gripped throughout and could really visualise the story happening whilst I was reading it. At one point I did think I could predict a twist in the story happening but something far more unexpected happened.
The book took me 4 days to read.
