Caregiver Day Appreciation Event on April 4 by @VHACaregiving

As you may or may not be aware of, April 4 is Family Caregiver Day – a day to appreciate, recognize and raise awareness the valuable role that caregivers play in our society. In honour of this day, CMHA Ontario has partnered with the City of Toronto, the Ontario Caregiver Coalition, and VHA Home HealthCare to host an appreciation event for caregivers in Toronto.

The event will be held at City Hall from 10-2pm, with special guests throughout the day, and lunch served at 1:15pm. The entire day is free of charge. Register here.

Join VHA Home HealthCare on this very special day that salutes the incredible dedication, work and heart, family caregivers show every day caring for family and friends who are ill or disabled.

  • Connect with other family and friend caregivers
  • Relax and recharge with free refreshments and lunch
  • Watch an incredible musical performance by Juno-Award winner, Jully Black

  • 10:00-10:30 a.m. Registration and light refreshments available at Councillors’ Lounge
  • 10:30-11:45 a.m. Caregiver Day Presentations and Inspiration including Keynote presentation Getting Personal About Family Caregivers by Dr. Brian Goldmanand White Coat, Black Art. 
  • 11:45-12:00 p.m. Break
  • 12:00-12:30 p.m. VHA’s Heart of Home Care Awards Presentation recognizing incredible caregivers who have gone above and beyond to care for an ill or disabled loved one.
  • 12:30- 1:00pm Musical Inspiration by Juno Award winner Jully Black
  • 1:00-1:15 pm Closing Remarks
  • 1:15-2:00 pm Complimentary Lunch in Councillors’ Chambers
