Ileana

Ileana is a Romanian, Italian, and Spanish female name, the Romanian form of Elena or Helen both of which derive from Helene, an Ancient Greek name of uncertain etymology though it could be related to Greek helene meaning “torch” or “corposant”, or perhaps linked to selene meaning “moon”. Ileana could also a variant spelling of Iliana,  a Greek and Bulgarian female name; in Greek it’s the feminine form of Ilias, the modern Greek transcription of Elias which derives from Elijah, a Hebrew male name meaning “my God is Yahweh”, while in Bulgarian Iliana is the feminine form of Iliya which also derives from Elijah.
