Last Day in Izola….

…..and it was beautiful! Clear as a bell and a high of 66 degrees. We said NO SWEETS today with our morning espressos, but there were macaroons! One cannot pass those up as they are a rare treat.

We had lunch at the same place and sat next to a different EMS crew. They must eat there everyday. The menu of the day today was beef noodle soup, pasta, small green salad and cake….enough pasta for 3! One of us had fried calamari and it was very good. This is what people do for birth announcements…..they put ribbons on the house and here we have twins!

There are “tanning beds” along the walkway in one area….great for sun bunnies. Can you imagine this scene in August with Speedos and bikinis?

Saturday morning we go back to Croatia and we do not think there will be a problem with long lines at the border….we hope. The plan is to stop in Groznjan (the photo at the top of the blog is from there) and then go to Motovun where we have another apartment reserved. In the first 8 days we have driven about 220 miles and 150 of it was between Ptuj and Izola.
