There is a certain little black cat in my life that is a constant source of giggles. His name is Stitch, and I’ve shown him to you before. But there is a series of books about another little black cat that I think you’re going to like.
Max is a very brave kitten. He is so brave, he’s going to chase mice! But what exactly do mice look like?
Thankfully, this helpful monster (above) tells him that Mouse is sleeping just a ways away…
After realizing that mice might be too much for little black cats, Max decides he can still be brave. After all, he’s the kind of kitten who chases monsters (they are much smaller than mice.)
Max will definitely get kids laughing. Verne’s simple illustrations hold a lot of humor. Max is so fun that he has two more books.
Tonight, when Max wanted to say goodnight to the moon, he couldn’t find it. He is very sleepy, but this is important, so he sets out to find the moon.
He climbs higher and higher before becoming very frustrated.
It turns out that the moon is hiding behind clouds, but the moon could hear Max saying good night all along.
Max has found an interesting new animal that he has big plans for.
Max is nothing if not helpful, so he says he won’t think about eating Bird until Bird learns to fly. They even go to the library to learn the trick to flying. But in the end, after all of that hard work together, can Max eat his new friend?
These books are so fun and cute, I can’t wait to read them with kindergarten. I have one other book by Ed Vere at school, but haven’t read it.
I want to order more:
Wait a minute! Why does that say Bedtime For Monsters? I could have sworn that was a mouse…
