review 1: I would honestly only give this 2.5 stars because it is pretty boring and just a redo of the first book (with Mars added in) :/ What was an interesting idea, just gets boring after awhile when you don't do much with it but jump around different places. If the characters were a little more interesting I don't think I would have been that bored, but its sad when I find the most interesting character a fake feline. I really really still like the premise behind the books, so many possible worlds to explore, so many things that could happen, I just don't feel much is being done with the idea.

... moreok so when you're getting bored of one characters story you can finish the chapter and get a different story, and potentially always keeping your interest. I also liked it because eventualy in the end of the book it overlaps all the the sub-stories and showed you how they're all connected, which I thought was amazing and cool. Lastly, I liked the Long Mars because the author was so imaginative and creative that even in the dull parts it was interesting. For example, a character named Maggie Kaufman explored the alternate realities and eventually found a world unlike ours that is based off water, was based on acid. The Long Mars is a great book, and I hope other people appreciate it as much as I did. less
