Taiyou no Ie by Taamo

It has been a while since I read a manga in full. After Strobe Edge, I read several, or rather, tried to. But somehow, I wasn’t satisfied with any of them.

So, yesterday afternoon, I was feeling miserable, and couldn’t study or do anything. That’s when I texted Vaishnavi,  a huge otaku, to suggest me something that cute and romantic. She told me Taiyou no Ie. I trust her taste, so I went for it.

It started out quite slowly. By the time I got the hang of it, the story was full in and before I knew it, I had finished reading half of it. It was cute and warm and fuzzy and my mind has relaxed plenty since then!

The word “family” brings a smile to my face because for me, it may be just three people but they mean the world to me, and I have no clue how it is with people who don’t have one, or with people who aren’t close to their family as I am. This manga taught me what family means to different people in different situations. I loved that idea.

I loved the characters. Mao was a confused soul and Hiro was a responsible one. In the middle of this is Daiki. Now, Daiki and I are in no way similar but I just freaking loved him so much of all the characters. He’s a typical tsundere, and even though I don’t like tsundere characters much, I loved Daiki. He was exceptionally funny and sassy and sarcastic and considerate and hot when he took off his glasses or put his hair back.

*breathe*

The story line was simple but deep and meaningful. It wasn’t just family or just love or even the culmination of both. It was how decisions are hard to make when the people you love aren’t related by blood.

Here are my favorite parts. Don’t see it if you haven’t read it!!
