The Not So Secret Emails of Coco Pinchard – Characters

From now on I am going to write a list of the main characters for books that are part of a series. That way when I read the next instalment, I can check and remember the characters.

  • Coco Pinchard is the main character. She is a writer and has a grown-up child, Rosencratz. At the beginning of the book, she is married to Daniel, but she divorces him when she catches him in bed with another woman. At the end of the book Coco becomes famous for the play she writes, and she is in a relationship with Adam, her neighbour in the allotment.
  • Daniel Pinchard is Coco’s ex-husband, a musician that hasn’t had a real success in his career.
  • Rosencratz Pinchard is Coco’s son. He is gay but isn’t too lucky with the guys he dates, and studies drama at university.
  • Chris is Coco’s best friend. His parents are very wealthy; they are actually nobility, but they don’t accept the fact that their son is gay, unmarried, and without a real profession.
  • Marika is also one of Coco’s best friends. Marika is from Slovakia and works in a school.
  • Meryl is Coco’s former sister-in-law, but despite the divorce they are in contact. Meryl is married to Tony, who is an undertaker. At the end of the book Meryl is pregnant.
  • Ethel Pinchard is Coco’s lovely, peculiar mother-in-law. In the book Ethel is living in a nursing home, but then she has a heart attack as a consequence of a fight with another lady. Ethel almost dies, but she recovers miraculously, but the nursing home staff won’t have her back, so Ethel spends some time with Coco, and eventually, her daughter gets her her own home.
  • Regina Battenberg is a writer and an adversary for Coco.
  • Adam is Coco’s love interest. He is black and very attractive. He owns the allotment next to Coco’s, and despite all the misunderstandings and fights they eventually end up together

Apart from these main characters the book has other minor ones like Angie, Coco’s new literary agent, Clive, the old man who plays at the play, Byron, the stage manager of the play, and Jason, the composer who writes the music for the play.
