Shades of Doon is the third book in the Doon series and it was amazing. I loved it and I think that it’s my favorite out of all the Doon books. I had so many feels while I was reading it. Every time I pick up a Doon book and start to read I forget how much I loved the story, the characters, the writing… all of it. I forget what a precious friendship Mackenna and Veronica have. How they have been together for a long time, have each others backs, think of what’s best for the other person and so much more. They have a true friendship that so few people have and it’s something that is truly special. Veronica has grown more into her position as Queen and she has become a stronger person, I love that but she still had a little more to learn and more to grown and she got to do both in this book. She takes her experiences that she has in this book to better herself and make herself ready for what is to come. Veronica is still a little feisty, very caring and because she had to take care of her own parents I believe is what also had prepared her to be queen. Veronica is use to taking care of others and putting their needs before her own and I think readers will get a better since of that in this story. The other half of Veronica, Mackenna. Mackenna is still just as passionate as she was before and maybe still just as lost. After everything she has been through Mackenna still doesn’t quite feel like she has a place, like she fits in. She is trying and I love that you see her try a little more, for the sake of those she loves. I do question to why is it so hard for her and why does she feel out-of-place and while Mackenna does grow she still has a lot to work through and I hope I get to see that in the final book. Carey Corp and Lori Langdon are amazing writers. To come up with the smaller individual plot in these books is marvelous. To come up with Doon and the characters in Doon to the plot, I know evil witch trying to take over a kingdom doesn’t sound special but the little details and the twists in the plot make it very special. Well that and the MacCrae brothers. Duncan and Jamie are two totally different people but have the same values and a closeness that makes it very hard for me to choose one over the other and I will not choose, I will take them both. Shades of Doon was so good, I loved it. There’s action, magic, romance, fighting, mystery, visions, danger is made known, evil has come and the kingdom will be forever changed after this. I am so excited for the conclusion of this, I can’t wait to get my hands on Forever Doon. Overall ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Advertisements Share this:Shades of Doon
