Travel Day – started off very early indeed! I had my alarm set for 3.30am, but of course I did not get much sleep as I was waaay to excited. Up, ready and on our way to Manchester airport, for our flight to leave at 10.20am.
We decided to book a lounge in the airport, I have a teeny tiny fear of flying and to be honest, being able to just chill and relax before the flight really helped me!
Boarded the plane, we decided on flying Premium Economy with Thomas Cook and I do not have a bad thing to say about the plane, the staff or the flight. For someone who does not like flying all that much, I had a pretty relaxing journey. Watched a couple of movies – Table 19 (I was….ok) and Beauty and the Beast (yay!). Did some adult book colouring in, had a little snooze and we had landed.
Could not believe how quick we got through baggage claim and immigration – honestly it only took us about 10 minutes. Then off we went to find our Magical Express! Now this did take a while, I think we waited about 40 minutes, but our holiday had just started so we did not even care.
Off to Port Orleans Riverside we went! This was our first time at Riverside and we LOVED it! For such a big resort, it was honestly so quiet walking around. It only took about 10 minutes for us to check in – I asked to be placed in the Magnolia Bend section and we were :).
We made our way over to our room, luggage in tow. We were roughly a 5 minute walk from the food court, shop and reception but only a 10 second walk to the closest bus stop location. We found our room, let ourselves in and had a quick look around the room. Found it to be more spacious than we had thought! Of course, one of the first things we did was pop on the Disney TV ;). We then packed our clothes away and went and explored our resort and of course spent a little time looking around the shop – where I spotted my first purchase….a Baymax Mug <3. We activated our refillable mugs and made our way over to the food court.
The food court was not busy at all at this time (roughly 6pm), plenty of tables to choose from. I decided on the Carved Cajun Turkey Club, it wasn’t the most amazing food I had ever had, but it was….ok and certainly helped with the hunger.
After the food, we all decided to explore a little more of the resort, before we made it back to our room and chilled watching a film, We decided to call it a night at 10.00pm (3am UK time – zzz) and prepare to get up early for Animal Kingdom tomorrow!
