review 1: Three short stories of various lengths. I haven't read the "As the World Dies" series, but after reading this I want to. Even without the background knowledge of the series, it works fine as a standalone read. Eric's story, especially, kept me turning pages. No matter how short or long the story, I instantly cared for the protagonists of the three stories encapsulated in this volume. I look forward to reading more of Frater's work.
review 2: I really enjoyed Lydia's story, especially since I've been wanting to know how it ended for her for some time since reading As The World Dies. I also enjoyed Monica's story, and liked that both were brief. I have mixed feelings about Eric's story. I love the way it ended, but thought it was a bit drawn out and felt more lik... moree a novella than an untold tale in a volume of short stories. At first it was a little "I Am Legend" with him and his dog but it improved for me as Eric's story progressed. less
