review 1: My first Rob Thurman book will not be my last. She manages to write convincing and emotional characters while creating believable psychometric abilities. The 'mystery' of the story isn't difficult to figure out, but it isn't intended to be-- at its heart, the story is about Jackson's ability to trust and befriend. The final twist at the end did catch me off guard. Maybe it is just my lately-emotional state, but several sections definitely left me teary. Highly recommended.
review 2: Just go read the book. It's a perfect example of why I adore Rob Thurman. Equal parts paranormal/scifi/horror and action, no one writes a main character like Thurman.
