Set against the bleak backdrop of the American depression, with the preferred method of... more travel being train jumping with the other hobos, the author paints a very bleak picture that fits well with the paranormal backdrop. The story of the mans daughter is just used as a background for the driving force of the mans vengeance. I really liked the way the author wrapped this one up. Some books can seem forced or just finish on the light side. In this book the ending seems to be well planned and fits the story very well. Good stuff for someone looking for a bit of a dark supernatural novel. less
