review 1: The writing is below average. I dont mind the plot much- i like cliche's but seriously? It's like all cliche's stuffed into a book. This is hands-down, the WORST written book i have ever read. If i hadn't known any better i could have thought this was written by a teenage kid. Yes, it is that horrible. Ok- wait, i know teenagers who can WRITE better than this one so i am taking that back. THIS GIRL CANNOT WRITE. There. Enough said
review 2: Many grammar and spelling mistakes. In the same paragraph I found "organise" and "organize". I'm fine with British spelling but if you use it, please stick with it!Too much inconsistency between he's mean and blackmailing her but he loves her and she hates him and is miserable but he instantly lights her fires. It's back and... more forth many times, too many times.It's like a historical romance but oddly set in modern times. I don't understand why Lily didn't leave her family long ago, which she absolutely could in modern times. Lily doesn't have any friends but that isn't explained. She didn't go to college but I assume she went to high school. If everyone outside her family hated her for some reason, it'd be good to know and have an explanation.It is set in London and apparently her family is old high society but that is never really made clear, which is annoying.There was a HEA and I finished the book in one sitting. It could have been much longer. Maybe I would have gotten the backstory I wanted and their relationship could have grown over time instead of the conflicting back and forth.Some people say it has a beauty and the beast theme but I don't get that at all. Other than his nickname being "Beast", there is no relation whatsoever to the fairytale. less
