review 1: this book sucked... and i've read some really sucky books.. but seriously this one takes the cake! i normally ignore reviewing the bad harlequin type books.. i mean no one expects harlequins to end up in a favourite shelf anyway! but atleast the other authors can write. this one just seemed like a wattpad user! and honestly i'm done with reading teanagers trial and error version of books.. a waste of my precious day!
review 2: Claiming His Wife by Sam Cresent is the third installment to Cresent's 'Unlikely Love' series and the first work that I've read from this author. Although I have yet to read the previous two in the series, I can say that this one can be a stand alone read as it still made sense to me when I read it.Opal has loved her brother's best friend
... more Tony for as long as she can remember. However, there's a 17 year difference between them and Tony is not about to jeopardize his friendship with Opal's brother for his little sister no matter how much he wants her. However, he quickly changes his mind when Opal is forced by her parents to marry a man that she does not want to. To save her he steps up to the plate to wed her in order to get her away from her to-be husband and demanding parents. From there, these two wed and become husband and wife, but in name only. Tony keeps his distance & buries himself in work while Opal is tucked away in the house with no companionship. Tired of living this life, she pushes for a divorce but Tony refuses. He loves her, yet he is adamant on pushing her away because he does not want Opal to see that he is like his father, a monster.Overall, I enjoyed reading Claiming His Wife but there were some issues that I had. What I liked about this book was the storyline and plot. Furthermore, the characters were fairly well developed and the story was fairly well written; although there were a few grammatical and spelling errors. As characters, Opal and Tony were quite likeable but I had a few issues with them. Opal was young & a bit naive & I wished she had more of a backbone, but I was glad to see her grow and find her strength and independence in the end. As for Tony, I'm a little bit on the fence on if I like him as a hero. I liked that he was protective & loving of Opal. However, he was also a jerk sometimes, but I believe he redeemed himself in the end. In all, Claiming His Wife was a decent read.*Rating: 3.5/5 *STARS* less
