review 1: Historical fiction can either be wonderful or leave you lost. In this case, I'm voting for wonderful. The story was one that could have been set in any time period, but fit perfectly right where it was. The secrets were ones that could have destroyed people during that time period, but were ones that perhaps most of us could relate to, no matter the time period. The imagery was wonderful and more than once, I wanted to curl up in that walled garden and enjoy its beauty while I curled up with a good book.
review 2: There is an intensity to this book that made it hard to put down. Cecily and Nathaniel both have secrets that they wish to keep hidden. Secrets that they believe will change their lives if discovered. As they grow more and more fond of each other, the
... morey have to decide if revealing the truth is worth the risk.A Lady at Willowgrove Hall is a story of love and forgiveness. A story of looking to the future, and letting go of the past. It is beautifully written and a story that I will enjoy over and over again.I have loved all of the books in Sarah's Whispers on the Moors series. Each book is a stand alone story, so there is no need to read them in order, but they are all well worth the read! Sarah Ladd had quickly become one of my favorite authors and I am excited to see what she writes next. less
