review 1: powerful story. Oh! the ink stain on the piano. Well written story on the battered wife syndrome n the effects it has to keep it a secret. To overcome polio would have been hard going but to cover injuries of miscarriage n burns for clumsiness. Oh the excuses made. As for Ray to face fears, to question cowardness n what that looks like. Horror injustice to the Negro people in wartime, hope it is better now for them. Delightful double wedding n Maggie going to live with Jack n Ruth, May n Charlie still together. Allie n Walt take Frankie to see her parents at Riverside.

... morestory in this book does not compare....this book was sooooo good! The story takes you thru such ups and downs for a minute I thought Seriously?? The characters have such chemistry, they have so much depth, you want to rejoice in their happiness and cry in their sorrow. Such intense subject matter how the enemy uses our weakness to make us believe we are not good enough, perfect enough, but in the end the story displayed how when we surrender our lives to The Lord, in our weakness, He perfects us with His strength. Such a beautiful story, by far my favorite of the series, and I was sad when it finished...lol. I could not put it down. Loved loved loved it! less
