review 1: Brilliant, intriguing, suspenseful. Each tidbit we are given only enhances the need to read more. To ascertain more information as to what is going on, who is JS and where this story is going! Lilly wakes up a captive with no knowledge who took her or where she is our why she was taken. The only hint is the signature at the bottom of her "contact", JS. Woven between the present, and recent past, as well as snippets as to Lilly's upbringing, we are pulled into an interesting beginning. I'm hooked... on to book two...
review 2: 3.5/4 StarsWas not bad. Still want to read how the "hero" and the heroine are connected. This is short. Equal amount of flashbacks to "present" dialogue. Flashbacks usually annoy me but I don't think they can be avoided in this book. The... more story is all told in Lilly's POV. Lilly is kidnapped wakes up in a strange room. She initially can not remember how she got there until she recalls events in flashbacks. Someone is holding her captive and presents a "contract" for her to sign. So many stories I read now have these "contracts" now. Not sure what to think about that. Not very original anymore. less
