review 1: Once I started it, I could barely put it down! This was a good thing because I did not start it until about 36 hours before my library was going to suck it off of my iPad! I cannot remember how I even decided to check this out because it turned out to be #1 in a series about a former military man named Ben Hope. His last name makes me think of the story of Pandora's box. After all of the chaos has been loosed on the earth, at the bottom of the box is one word,"hope." This is the perfect name for him. He is a man with burdens from the past who now makes his life about finding and/or helping missing children. I do not want to say more because I am concerned I might give something away. I will say that it was absolutely mesmerizing, both the characters and the story. Highly r... moreecommend for a fun read!
review 2: just ok. Not as good as Dan Brown or James Rollins, or Douglas Preston. Characterzation is underdeveloped, action is underdeveloped, the mystery is underdeveloped, the plot development doesn't move the story forward. Still, I like this kind of book so if you want a mystery / action adventure book that is easy to put down and won't engulf you, this is for you. I never find myself wondering what happens next - I'll just get there when I get there. If you wnat a fully engrossing story, try one of the aforementioned authors less
