Ben Hope
review 1: Very exciting thriller. It was quite violent and had swearing, but it was very exciting. If you like Dan Brown, or the Bourne books this would be perfect. The main character, Ben Hope, is ex-army and currently runs a training camp for military people in hostage situations. One night he gets a phone call from the man who saved his life in the army. Ben meets Harry, and Harry says that his son was murdered in Egypt and he would like Ben to go find the killers since the Egyptian police are useless. Ben agrees as he hates having the debt of Harry saving his life over him.Meanwhile there is a terrorist called Kamal looking for treasure... naturally Harry's son was an Egyptologist (if that is a word...) and the terrorist and Ben's lines get mixed up...This book had a lot of twis... morets and while some were expected, some definitely weren't. It was very exciting though. This is obviously one of a series like the Dan Brown books, so for a series the ending was good, but if I didn't know it was a series the ending would have been disappointing. I would like to read some of his other books, including the Mozart Conspiracy (which I am pretty sure my sister has in her bookcase...) as Ben Hope was a very interesting character.I would recommend this to fans of action and treasure hunting, as long as they are not afraid of a bit of violence...
review 2: This 4th installment of Heretic Treasure is a proof that Mariani wouldn't be giving Ben Hope any chance for a decent love story. I'll stop hoping for a good partner for Ben and I would just concentrate on his awesomeness when it comes to fighting and killing. Heretic Treasure is a fast-paced novel that will make you think what a waste was that treasure. Furthermore, what I most love anout Mariani's work is the history involved with each novel, I love learning anything about Egyptians used to be supremacy. less

It's an ok book. It's about the lost treasure of Akhenaten.
