review 1: The authors clearly state at the end of this book that they took what was hot - The Hunger Games - and added in zombies. That is very much what this is, but that doesn´t detract from it being well written and put together. There is quite a lot more about the current dystopic society than the games, which gives it a different angle too. The characters are interesting as is the scenario that they are living in. I´m still not sure whether the Old Nation is the US or Australia - hopefully figure that out in the second book.
review 2: Having read some of the installments of "Yesterday's Gone," I was really intrigued when I saw this serial Platt & Wright were developing. I find myself a bit on the fence about how much I am liking this, but so far, I have read thr... moreough the second installment, and it has been enough to keep me going and interested. The story strikes me as a little TOO much like "The Hunger Games" at points, but the other things going on are able to keep me interested and wondering to know what happens next. Platt & Wright certainly have down the ability to keep people in suspense! Can't wait to see what happens in the third installment. For $1.99, it is definitely enjoyable! less
