review 1: A pretty good short read that provided some lighthearted comic relief for the Evan Arden series. This novella was a quick read about Nick Wolfe, the bastard son of Evan's mob boss. He is a womaniser and a bit of a socialite but was still an interesting character to get to know. He prides himself on being smooth with women and always getting what he wants - at least until he met Milena. All of a sudden his confidence is gone and he spends most of his time babbling and unsure of himself but he knows he'd do anything to get Milena to like him - even a little bit. From there the story goes on with their quick relationship development and pretty much ends just when things might be getting interesting, considering Milena's brother and uncle might have ties to a rival mob in the ... morecity. Overall this was a good short read that I'd recommend if you're reading through the Evan Areden series. Nick's flustered fascination with Milena was sweet and funny, and I hope I'll get to see both of their characters again later on in the series.
review 2: This book is completely different from the other books in the series. The hero is not Evan, it's one of Evan's acquaintances. It's a really silly, funny read. It's just one man running around getting laid and using lines while his friends try to stop him, until he meets a girl and can't even talk to her since he's so overwhelmed. You can read this short story as a stand alone. It's pretty funny if you need a few laughs. less

Fun, but no substance. Not necessary for the trilogy.
