review 1: Average overall. Don't read this if you are Sheldon fan. This book has too many loopholes because the author thought she could be on par with Sheldon's writing. Everything was good but the end. I would have rated it better if the author had stopped a few chapters before the end when the protagonists were leading a happy life, but no, she had to show that love triumphs in the end. Though the plot was thrilling, I am overall disappointed.
review 2: Sidney Sheldon would turn in his grave if he were ever to read this book written in his name. I agree, filling up Sidney's shoes is not an easy task, but the book is nowhere close to a Sidney moment. Globe trotting serial killers may surely be Sidney idea, but the way it has been conceptualized and narrated is surely
... morenot. It left me bored and disinterested in the characters half way through the book. I was hoping it would end with the rescue of David Ishag and a deconstruction of the murders. However, the book takes us on a ride through a boring much-avoidable courtroom drama that leaves more questions asked than answered. Matt Daley is possibly the first central character of a book that I have read who really did not need to be in the book at all. It was easier, and probably more effective, to have Danny McQuire remain the primary character of importance. There are lot of characters who make no impact on the story at all - Matt, his ex wife Raquel, his sister Claire, Danny's wife - all with some degree of significant presence in the book but adding little or no value to the storyline itself. The book can be summed up in a single word. Thoroughly Disappointing. (That's two words, I know - that's what the book does to you!) less

The last third of the book was pretty lame... In totality, the novel was just OK.

I enjoyed the book, but am slightly disapponted at how predictable it was.
