review 1: 2013, September 6This story wasn't what I expect, well yes in a way it was but there are parts that just blew my mind. I don't think I have laughed at a story this much since the last Shelley Laurenston book I read. The interaction between Chase and Ben is a scream but add in their sister Georgia and you have a comedy of error in the making. I have waited for Ben and Chase's story for quite awhile, or at least it feels like a while. These two have just screamed needing a happily ever after. They are both SEALs, "sigh". They are rich and they both are more than a little screwed up. They are both compassionate and loving men, Chase just doesn't want to admit it. There sister is a ditsy blonde from California that attracts Logan Green's attention. Which I also think ... moreis a good thing. I hope that Logan and Georgia find a third and work out their relationship. In fact in might be great to have stories on all the Dawson children.Natalie Buchanan is recovering from months of slavery to a brute of a man that she killed to escape. We get the back story for Kitten and Natalie since they were held by the same man. What the author's tells us is enough to know that the men really got off easily when Natalie stabbed him. Natalie has been trying to pull her life back together for the last four years. When she is accused of murder she finally realizes that she has to take back control of her life and she does with a vengeance. Natalie is one of the nurturing woman that is always trying to help her friends and family. She is compassionate and caring. She is strong and brave. She also thinks on her feet and does what she has to in order to survive. I liked her a lot.In this story we see that Kitten has begun to function as a real person. She is using pronoun and referring to herself in the first person. She is ready for a more permanent Dom. Logan Green is also coming along in his therapy. He has found his inter alpha male and Dom. I loved him dealing with Georgia and Kitten and sometimes Natalie. He is going to be a wonderful, caring Dom when Leo releases him. The D/s in this story is not brutal or uncaring Chase and Ben know that the need to bring Natalie along carefully. Yes that is bondage, spanking, and toy play however the only public scene is the first spanking that Natalie receives and she keeps most of her clothes on. The sex is hot as any fan of Ms. Oak has come to expect. There are scenes that it is a wonder the pages don't catch fire. I loved this story and I look forward and each new one that Ms. Oak writes.2014, August 31I wrote a fairly long review the first time I read this book. That was just a little under two years ago. I am not sure how much I can add to that review. I still love Chase and Benjamin Dawson. They are SEALs and each one is more than a little screwed up. Chase is reticence. He is more comfortable with his computer than he is with the people that he has to work with. He is all Dom, all the time. However there is a core of him that wants to find someone that will accept him for who he is. Most women accept Chase as long as Ben is part of the group. These two men are two parts of a whole. They physically feel that the others feel and there are times they can communicate with each other telepathically. Chase is the dark side of the pair. Chase is also paranoid and a little OCD.Ben is a positive man that can laugh easily and find the good in most people. Ben is the light to Chase’s darkness. He is the charmer, but he is also a Dominant. There is little he will put up with if someone he loves or cares about is harmed. Both men are protective and possessive. Ben wants a family and a home but he is afraid that he will never find anyone that can put up with Chase.Natalie Buchanan has been brutally rape and beaten over a period of months. She and Kitten were held by the same men until Natalie killed him so they could escape. She has been working at the Willow Fork Tranquility Spa for several years. She has been surviving since she was rescued from the hell that she and Kitten were a part of. When a man is murdered in her massage therapy room she is sure she will be fired. But Julian Lodge sends Chase and Ben to investigate the murder and free Natalie from all suspicion of the crime. I admired Natalie for finding the courage to claim her life once again. I also admired her for not falling apart when she is kidnapped once again. I also have to admire Natalie’s ability to want to find the best in people. She wants to help those that have been hurt or abused.Georgia Dawson is a ball of chaos that catches Logan Green’s attention. Georgia is Ben and Chase’s sister by a stripper their father married when they were children. Georgie is what I would imagine a California debutante would be. She talks all the time and there are times that she is a real airhead. She is much more than what most people see, there is intelligence and courage buried beneath the Valley Girl persona. I know that she is going to be the bane of Logan’s existence in a future book. This is a story I am looking forward to reading again in the near future.Ms. Oak continues to offer wonderful stories that pair of tortured heroes with their perfect match. I love that Julian has become such a match maker. We are treated to the coming out party for Julain, Finn and Dani's daughter. I had to laugh when Josh Barnes (Jack Barnes) tells Julian he is going to marry Chloe. I would have loved being a fly on the wall when that happened. We get to see quite a bit of Josh in this story and he is going to be a dominant just like his Daddy. I love reading each of these books and always look forward to each new one as they come out. There is no m/m sexual connection between the brothers. There is a lot of spanking and some bandage and butt plug play.
review 2: I haven't read all the books in the Siren / Bliss series but have caught and odd one here or there, so mostly I know who the characters are. I enjoyed this book. The twin dynamic as it was explored between the brothers was interesting and added depth to the relationship on all parts.If you're looking for a hot, sexy love fest of a book - this isn't it. Seriously, you're two thirds of the way through the book before they get it together, this was definitely more about the relationship and the people within it.I enjoyed the book. For me, the best in this series are the first two about Jack, Sam and Abby and they've never been equalled. But this was enjoyable. The worlds of Siren and Bliss have become even more intertwined and the next Bliss book features Georgia who makes a lengthy appearance in this book. less
