Chet and Bernie Mystery
review 1: Frenchmen Boutette, an old criminal pal of Bert and Chet, need help finding his brother Ralph, an inventor missing with his houseboat. Bernie sets course for the bayous of Louisiana, a trip that will introduce Chet to a world of new sights, smells, and tastes. Chet and Bernie meet the Boutette family and their enemies, the Robideaus, who may have so etching to do with Ralph's disappearance. But when Chet uncovers a buried clue, the investigation heads in a dangerous direction involving the oil business and an impending environmental catastrophe. Soon, they’re fighting not only Big Oil, but also black ops figures, a biker gang and Iko—a bayou gator with an insatiable appetite. Another of Spencer Quinn's delightful mysteries.

... morem the deep dark well written novels I'd been reading and knew I could count on Chet and Bernie for a quick pick me up. Written in the voice of the dog, these two have a great adventure, as always. Fun with a little intrigue to keep you interested, and entertained. Part of a series written by Quinn, this is one of the better 'pet' mysteries, sort of the dog version of Louise Jackson Braun or Rita Mae Brown's cat mysteries but more tongue in cheek, or maybe tongue and ears hanging out the window of Bernie's Porsche! less

Chet and Bernie are off to bayou country, where they both stick their noses into trouble. Cute romp.

It was interesting solving an investigation with Chet, the dog, giving his thoughts.
