review 1: This has some vulgar language which is unnecessary. It'd be a fantastic read without it. Chet and Bernie make up the team of the Little Detective Agency. The story is told from Chet's point of view and Chet happens to be a dog. Bernie is hired to find a missing teenager, who comes back only to disappear again. Is it just a runaway teenager or is there something else afoot? Chet's unique perspective makes this no ordinary detective story.
review 2: This is the only book I have read by this author, and I suppose it is possible that I would not find a follow up to be quite as amusing. However, I found this one to be incredibly enjoyable. Repeatedly throughout the story I could have sworn that the author was directly channeling a dog. He came up with interesti... moreng--humorous--ways in which Chet would view a situation over and over again. I think that the mystery story was fine, but the main attraction was seeing everything from Chet's angle. I think most dog lovers would enjoy this book. less
